The 14^th EMAC will be held in the Agora du Haut-Carré. The Agora is located on the campus of Bordeaux universities. It can be easily reached by foot or by public transport.

The closest tram station is "Forum" (line B): access map to the meeting.

In order to welcome you in the best conditions, it is necessary that you register online even if the payment is delayed.

For all latecomers, as of July 10, register with "payment on the spot", booking is still open for the conference diner and the tour to Arcachon. Only cash will be accepted (an ATM is at your disposal 100 m away from the meeting venue).

We remind you that for all communications including posters, you must pay the registration fee.

Public Conference

To introduce this 14^th edition of the European Meeting on Ancient Ceramics, we will be pleased to host Dr Valentine Roux, CNRS Research Director, for a public lecture (in french) entitled "Des Céramiques et des Hommes."

The conference will take place on Tuesday 5 September at 6 pm at the Musée d’Aquitaine in Bordeaux.

Social events

During the week of the meeting, several events are proposed:

• Wednesday (09/06) from 6 PM: welcome cocktail, offered to all participants!
• Thursday (09/07) from 9 PM: conference diner (extra fees, reservations required, limited places).
• Saturday (09/09): excursion to the Bassin d'Arcachon (extra fees, reservations required, limited places).

Enrollment in the social program takes place at the same time as registration for the conference. Please note that the number of attendees for the social program is limited: reservations are recorded in the order of arrival of the registrations.

The next EMAC will be held in Bordeaux (France) from the 6^th to 9^th of September 2017. This 14^th edition is organized by the Research Institute on Archaeomaterials (IRAMAT-CRP2A), a joint laboratory of the French National Center for Scientific Research and Bordeaux Montaigne University, part of the Bordeaux Archaeological Science Cluster of excellence.

The European Meeting on Ancient Ceramics (EMAC) is a biennial conference convening scholars and young researchers, both from humanities and sciences.

In accordance with former editions, the aim of this 14^th meeting is to promote interdisciplinary and integrated studies of ancient ceramics. Scientists with diverse academic backgrounds are encourage to share expertise for solving issues on production processes, dissemination and use, and up to alteration and conservation. New approaches and methodological developments are presented in terms of analytical and measuring techniques, data processing and interpretation.

The topics of this 14^th edition are :

• Environmental and raw material studies (clay, temper, fuel...);
• Gestures and techniques (chaîne-opératoire, production processes, object biography...);
• Ceramic function and use (organic residues, use-wear analysis...);
• Provenance and networks;
• Technical ceramics (metallurgy, glass making...);
• Slips and glazes;
• New methodologies and data analysis (3D, portable and non invasive techniques, statistics...);
• Chronology.

Online abstracts submission is now closed. All the proposals have been evaluated evaluated by the Scientific Committee.
